DON'T WEAR YOUR MAKEUP TO BED!
Yup—that’s it. You just don't do it. Because if you do...
Makeup sits on your skin, and if you let it sit there all night as you sleep it clogs up the elimination system of your skin. This not only jams up the ability of your body to get rid of toxins, it can cause enlarged pores because they have to expand in order to reach for oxygen and fresh air. The larger your pores, (and the more clogged your skin is) the more likely you are to have breakouts.
If you do have a breakout, don’t try to pop any zit that sits underneath your skin or is surrounded by redness; it will just damage your skin and create further redness, irritation and possible scarring.
And here’s an extra tip...
Because bacteria can build up faster than you think, it may be the secret source of a nasty breakout. Where’s it coming from? Very possibly your makeup tools!
These have to be kept clean, at least weekly, if not every day or two. These brushes touch your face more than anything else (except your hands, which need to be clean too), so remember to keep them clean!
