5 Ways to Use Aloe Gel in Your Daily Beauty Routine

There’s a reason so many people turn to Aloe Vera gel. Not only can the gel help soothe and heal sunburns and other burns, Aloe Vera is known for its ability to reduce inflammation and irritation, fight bacteria, and deeply moisturize dry skin. That’s why this amazing succulent has been a go-to treatment since the ancient Egyptian period.

So how can you use this wonderful gel in your daily beauty routine?

  1. Remove your makeup
Aloe Vera is very gentle on skin and an effective alternative to greasy oils. Just put a penny size amount on a cotton ball and wipe away the day.
  1. Exfoliate your skin
For smooth skin that glows, Aloe Vera makes a great base for your own body scrub: Mix ½ cup aloe, about ½ cup brown sugar, oatmeal (if you need extra moisture), or Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Then, rub it on your face, elbows, heels, or wherever else needs softening in the shower. The sugar or salt helps exfoliate dead skin, the Aloe Vera deep-cleans the skin, and the lemon helps fade out scars.
  1. Make an eyebrow gel.
As Aloe Vera gel dries, it hardens to a clear finish when applied to skin or hair—so is makes a great DIY eyebrow gel. Just dip a clean mascara wand or eyebrow brush into a bit of Aloe Vera gel and sweep it over your brow hairs for awesome stay-put power. It’s really easy to wash off at the end of the day because it’s natural and not greasy.
  1. Rinse your hair with Aloe Vera
Make a nourishing hair mask by applying the gel to your hair strands and letting it sit before showering. You can also use it to make a solution for greasy hair. Add 1-2 tsp of Aloe Vera gel and 1 Tbsp of lemon juice to 1 cup of water and mix well. Shampoo and then rinse your hair with the solution and then leave it on for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water. This mixture acts as an astringent to reduce oils on the scalp.
  1. Heal dry, cracked feet
Here is a foot mask that makes dry, cracked feet baby-soft. Mix together 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup corn meal, 4 Tbsp Aloe Vera gel, and 1/2 cup unscented body lotion. Then do a brisk rub all over your feet until well exfoliated. Let it sit for 10 minutes, rinse with warm water and then enjoy your beautiful soft feet!
